Low cost sessions that include a fully prepared Project Plan demonstrating how sessions meet your ECM outcomes.
A 5 week programme for parents/carers and their child, aiming to give the skills and confidence to make story time a regular and fun activity at home. A new book is introduced each week through an interactive read-aloud session led by our skilled drama practitioner. The group uses their imagination to creatively retell that story through dramatic play. Sessions are one hour long and include coffee and chat time.
Children's Centres may choose to invest in a library of the chosen five books and permit participants to borrow a book each week to try what they have learned at home.
NB This programme has worked best when the Children's Centre has hand-picked families from their targeted groups.
Fees include a Project Plan and Evaluation Forms.
"Many children attending our centre have a first language other than English. After attending the Storycise course several of these children have noticeably increased in confidence when speaking English. Parents have told us that the course has shown them how to make reading books more exciting and that their children enjoy this more as a result. I feel these sessions help families develop a love of language and books which is so important for learning and wellbeing."
