Family Story Play™ (Ages 12mths-4 years with their primary carer)
This is the perfect follow-up programme to Family Storycise™ – it will continue to model good communication and language skills and highlight the importance of stories and creative play in parenting. These sessions are not book-based but use interactive storytelling and dramatic play as a key literacy builder.
Sessions include a warm up to music, interactive and fun language games, bubble time, visual stimulus to introduce characters, an interactive story told by the practitioner and a group retelling of the story (encouraging communication between parent and child) led by the practitioner but driven by the children's responses. After a cool down we leave time for questions and coffee.
Our stories all follow the EYFS curriculum and come with supporting resources for the parents and the setting that highlight links to the curriculum and provide follow-up activities.
Fees include a project plan and evaluation forms.
"We've been running Debutots in the Children's Centre since last September and it has proven very popular. It never ceases to amaze us all how they manage to keep the children's (& parents') attention. This is also a great opportunity to run something for the childminders in our area and, as it encompasses the early learning goals, this is ideal."
Zoe Chinery, Manager of Oak Farm Sure Start Children's Centre.
