Debutots is delighted to support I CAN, the children’s communication charity.
I CAN works to develop speech, language and communication skills for all children with a particular focus on children who find communication hard; children with a communication disability.
Debutots classes encourage speech and language skills to develop in a communication-friendly environment. Our stories provide the platform for verbal and non-verbal communication to grow through structured dramatic play and lively, imaginative games.
I CAN’s aims are directly reflected in our practice and we demonstrate our support for their valuable work through distribution to all our nurseries of their excellent DVD for early years practitioners, Learning to Talk: Talking to Learn to and the equally beneficial Chatters Matters DVD to all attendees of our parent and child classes.
We will also be taking part in the Chatterbox Challenge in 2008 and hope to raise money for I CAN’s excellent work with the under 5s!
Make Chatter Matter
Make Chatter Matter is I CAN’s awareness-raising campaign to highlight the importance of children’s communication development during the early years as the foundation for learning and development.
One of the ways we can show our support for this important initiative is through their nationwide annual Chatterbox Challenge.
Debutots will be writing a special story for our Baby Story Play and Early Years Drama classes to promote the challenge and we hope little Debutots chatter boxes will be ringing out across the UK to raise money for I CAN!
